Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every use of TopoTopic at topotopic.com: what you record, upload, import, write, generate, publish and share, and how you use every feature. It also applies to people who view shared or published content without an account.

You are responsible for what you bring into the Service and for what you do with what the Service produces.

Do not upload, create, store or share content that:

• is unlawful where you are or in Austria, or is used to commit or prepare a crime;
• sexually exploits children, or is intimate imagery of a person shared without that person's consent;
• promotes terrorism or incites violence or hatred against people or groups;
• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right;
• discloses personal data, confidential information or private communications that you have no right to process or disclose;
• harasses, threatens, defames or impersonates a person;
• is fraudulent or deceptive, including phishing and scams;
• contains malware or code meant to damage or gain unauthorized access to a system.

Do not:

• disrupt, overload or damage the Service or interfere with other users;
• bypass or attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits or other security controls, or use another person's account;
• probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, except as our Security and Responsible Disclosure policy allows;
• scrape, harvest or bulk-extract content or personal data by automated means, except through export features the Service provides to you for your own content;
• send unsolicited messages, invitations, posts or share emails, or use sharing and collaboration features for deceptive outreach;
• guess, brute-force or reuse revoked share links, tokens or invitations;
• reverse engineer or decompile the Service, except where the law gives you that right and a contract cannot take it away;
• resell the Service or give access to it to third parties as your own product.

• Do not record, upload, transcribe, label speakers in, or share audio or video of other people without the consent or permission the law requires. Do not record covertly.
• Do not use the Service to identify people by their voice, and do not enroll any voice other than your own in voice recognition.
• Do not use recordings or transcripts to monitor employees, students or other people in a way the law of their country forbids.

Do not use the AI features to:

• generate or distribute content that section 2 forbids;
• infer the emotions of people at work or in education, categorize people by their voice, face or other physical characteristics to deduce their race, political opinions, trade union membership, religion, sex life or sexual orientation, or score people's social behavior;
• make or substantially prepare decisions about individual people in employment, education, credit, insurance, housing, policing, migration or justice;
• present AI-generated text, audio or images as made by a human, or as a real recording, where that deceives people about something that matters to them;
• try to extract system prompts, defeat safety measures, or otherwise manipulate model behavior against its intended use;
• act against the usage policies that the AI providers named at Subprocessors publish for their models.

Check AI output before you rely on it or share it. Do not use the Service for emergencies or safety-critical work.

Anyone can report content on TopoTopic that they consider unlawful or contrary to this policy, including an infringement of their copyright or other rights:

• signed-in users in the product: "Report post" on posts in Connect, and "Report this share" on pages opened from a share link to an item, a collection or a workspace. The report records the page and a reason you choose, and a confirmation appears when it is filed;
• anyone, with or without an account, by email to support@topotopic.com.

So that we can act on a report by email, it should contain:

• why you consider the content unlawful or contrary to this policy;
• where it is: the exact address (URL) of the page;
• your name and email address (not required for reports of child sexual abuse material);
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete;
• for an infringement of your rights: which work or right is concerned and that you are the right holder or act for the right holder.

What happens next. Every report enters the operator's review queue. A person reviews it; we do not use automated means to decide on reports. We decide in a timely, diligent and objective manner, and we record the decision with its reasons. We confirm reports made by email, and we tell you our decision by email, using the address of your account if you reported in the product.

If we restrict content or an account, we send the affected user a statement of reasons: what we restricted and for how long, the facts we relied on, that no automated means were used, the law or the section of this policy the decision rests on, and how to contest it. We do not send it where the law forbids it or where we have no contact details for that user.

If you disagree with a decision, as the person who reported or as the affected user, reply to it within six months and tell us why. A person reviews the decision again, and we tell you the outcome. You can also bring the matter before a court at any time.

Reports must be made in good faith. We may stop processing reports from someone who repeatedly files reports that are manifestly unfounded.

We do not monitor what users store, and private content is looked at by a person only in the situations the Privacy Policy lists. We act on reports, on orders of courts and authorities, and on what we come across when giving support or investigating a security incident. We do not use automated tools to detect or remove content.

If content or conduct breaks the law or this policy, we can remove the content or restrict access to it, disable a share link or remove a publication, revoke collaborator access, restrict a feature, suspend an account, or end the contract as the Terms provide. We choose the mildest measure that solves the problem, and we take into account how serious the breach is, whether it was intentional, and whether it was repeated. Accounts that repeatedly infringe the rights of others can be closed.

We preserve evidence where we need it to handle a dispute, and we inform the competent authorities where we learn of information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of a person.

Not acting against one breach does not mean that we accept it or a later one.
